Nestled in the heart of historic Newtown, PA, at Pickering Manor you will find a warm, friendly environment filled with smiles, hugs, stories, and laughter. Many of their employees have been with them for years, creating a familiar, home-like atmosphere.

They may not be as large as other facilities, but that’s an advantage because the focus is always on you at Pickering. Our intimate size allows us to truly deliver personal care and service.

Independent Living at Pickering Manor:

Pickering contains an attractive selection of cottages with a meal plan, housekeeping services, and shopping transportation; with most having been renovated to 2 bedrooms. Apartments are available for rent on one-year contracts. Floor plans are available upon request. Pickering Manor also offers Senior Rental Apartments.

Currently, in their independent living  all the apartments are spoken for YET there is one cottage open.

Independent Cottage Opening:

As luck may have it a cottage has opened up.  There are only 10 cottages on site at Pickering.  This is a great opportunity!  It is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath with a large living space that opens to the eat in kitchen.

History: 

Pickering Manor is a senior living community that opened in 1963 thanks to the generosity of Newtown resident Henry Russell Pickering, who bequeathed his home and a sum of money for the creation of a retirement center to serve the older citizens of Newtown and the surrounding communities.

Today, this unique, non-profit retirement community is owned and operated by a Board of Directors made up of local community members (called the Community Welfare Council of Newtown).

Although it has grown significantly over the years, Pickering Manor continues to be funded by revenues from its residents and generous donations from individuals, local businesses, and community organizations.  The Long-Term-Care and Rehab Neighborhoods are also Medicare and Medicaid certified.

Our mission is to support the people of our community to achieve the highest levels of independence, personal fulfillment, and continued quality of life.

 

Renovations at Pickering Manor:

Pickering is pleased to announce that they are undergoing renovations to add more amenities to offer.  The new amenities are set to open around March 2024.   Be on lookout when the new amenities open – Senior Living Television will be stopping by!
