A Staged Home Will Sell for More

A Staged Home Will Sell for More

Hi, I am Christina Swain with The Swain Team and the research is in! The “2021 Profile of Home Staging” by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) (https://bit.ly/2Q6qlRf) has been released.

One interesting fact worth sharing is: buyers have been influenced by how homes on TV shows look. A median of 10 percent of respondents say that buyers thought that homes should look how they’re staged on those shows. This makes perfect sense. There is a much higher demand by buyers for homes that are staged. Yes, even in a market like we are in with tight inventory; it is a fact that a staged home will receive more offers on it than an un-staged home.

Thus, staging can help to raise the selling price, and 23 percent of sellers’ agents reported an increase of 1 to 5 percent of the dollar value offered by buyers compared to similar homes.

One option is to stage just a few rooms. According to the NAR study, the four most important rooms to stage were the living room (46%), the master bedroom (43%), the kitchen (35%), and the dining room (27%).

The study also delves into the importance of video, photos, virtual tours, and the impact of viewing staged homes on buyers.
