A Morning That Matters: A Powerful Alzheimer’s Screening in Newtown

There are certain topics that touch nearly every family in one way or another—and Alzheimer’s disease is one of them.

On Thursday, May 7, our community has a unique opportunity to come together for a meaningful and eye-opening experience at the historic Newtown Theatre. In partnership with Penn Memory Center and Senior Living Specialists, we’re inviting you to a free screening of the PBS documentary Matter of Mind: My Alzheimer’s.

Matter of Mind: My Alzheimer’s

Why This Event Matters

Alzheimer’s is more than a diagnosis—it’s a journey that impacts not only those living with the disease, but also the families who love and care for them. This powerful documentary follows the lives of three individuals and their families as they navigate the realities of memory loss, while still finding ways to live fully, love deeply, and stay connected.

It’s honest. It’s emotional. And most importantly, it’s real.

A Community Conversation

As someone who works closely with individuals and families navigating major life transitions—including downsizing and moving later in life—I see firsthand how important it is to have these conversations early and openly.

Events like this remind us that we’re not alone. They give us tools, perspective, and—perhaps most importantly—a sense of community.
